IMPORTANCE OF KIBALU - KIMBUNDU TIME TABLES: AN EXPERIENCE OF MAINTAINING THE HISTORY, MEMORY AND LANGUAGE OF THE AMBUNDU PEOPLE
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to address the need for and the absence of the Kimbundu multiplication table (Kibalu) in schools in Angola, which somehow prevents students, teachers, and society in general from performing calculations and sums in various fields, especially in regions where the Kimbundu language is predominant, such as the "AMBUNDU" region. The primary objective is to demonstrate the importance of creating a mathematical instrument, the "Kibalu" (multiplication table), in the Kimbundu language.
Regarding the methodology, historical-logical and empirical methods were used, with analysis and synthesis. Regarding the techniques, interviews were conducted with students, teachers, and the general public about the Kimbundu multiplication table, in addition to questionnaires administered to students, teachers, and the general public about the Kimbundu multiplication table.
It is important to emphasize that the innovation and implication of this instrument could, in fact, provide an organization of mathematical calculations in Kimbundu, a factor that could trigger scientific mechanisms in the aforementioned area of knowledge, which corresponds to what should be considered in the mathematical system based on the Kibalu multiplication table.
