Abstract

A study visit is a learning opportunity that fosters knowledge acquisition, enhancing the interconnection between academic, research, and outreach components. This work is based on the interdisciplinary and outreach strategy of the study visit (SV) to the EKA brewery in the municipality of Dondo, conducted in the 2023 academic year with fourth-year students of the Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Chemistry Teaching programs at the Cuanza Norte Pedagogical School (ESPECN). The study visit allowed for the integration of theoretical and practical knowledge from the subjects of Environmental Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Chemical Technology with beer production, with an emphasis on the environmental impact of the brewery on the surrounding community. The results indicate that the study visit significantly improves the theoretical understanding and practical application of chemical concepts, contributing to the comprehensive training of future teachers and promoting university outreach from an interdisciplinary perspective.
