Abstract

Inadequate stormwater drainage is a critical problem in urban areas, particularly in neighborhoods with unplanned growth. This study aims to propose the partial rehabilitation of the stormwater drainage network in the Cassequel do Lourenço neighborhood, in the Maianga Urban District, Luanda. The methodology adopted included bibliographic research, field survey using GPS and direct observation, and hydraulic design with the computational tool PLUVIOTOOL. The study area, with 13 hectares, was topographically characterized and divided into 101 sub-basins. The design results indicated collector diameters between 300 mm (upstream) and 1300 mm (in the main downstream collector), with flow velocities complying with the established criteria. It is concluded that the presented proposal is technically feasible and could solve the flooding problems, significantly improving the quality of life of the local population.
