Abstract

The article, entitled "Prostitution in Luanda: Psychological Reflections on Sex Workers in the Municipalities of Cazenga and Viana," aims to analyze the underlying causes of prostitution in Luanda and identify the psychological causes and consequences faced by sex workers in the municipalities of Cazenga and Viana. Sex workers are all girls and women who habitually engage in illicit sexual relations with any man, obtaining remuneration or any other economic benefit from them. The research focused on a qualitative approach using a semi-structured interview technique. Twenty-one sex workers in the municipalities of Cazenga and Viana, aged between 18 and 42, were interviewed. The interviews were recorded using a smartphone and lasted 10 to 20 minutes each.
