Abstract

The research focuses on the principle of worker protection in the General Labor Law, n. 12/23. It is observed that many companies have violated the fundamental rights of workers, significantly affecting their dignity. The research seeks to answer how this protection is guaranteed in Angolan labor legislation and to better understand the worker's situation. The principle of worker protection is fundamental to the coherence and consistency of labor standards, guiding both the creation and interpretation of laws. This general principle of labor law aims to protect the worker, considered the most fragile party in the employment relationship. From the analysis undertaken, it was possible to identify the sub-principles that guide the principle of worker protection, such as dignity, equality and freedom. The specific rights were then listed, and the forms of interpretation and application of the principle of worker protection were confirmed. The importance of the role played by regulatory bodies in the application of the principles of worker protection was highlighted and the analysis of the right to personality was highlighted. The exploratory research model was adopted with a qualitative approach, as well as understanding the principles and dogmatics on the topic. We hope that this research proves useful for everyone, and that it can contribute to improving both the lives of workers and in the legal, scientific, academic and practical lives of those it may be interested in.
