Television and the School Institution. The Cognitive Effects of Television Messages and their Importance in the Teaching-Learning Process
Main Article Content
Abstract
Television and the educational institution. The cognitive effects of television messages and their importance in learning are our research proposal in Social Psychology and Education. As is common knowledge, we are facing a society of paradoxes, information, misinformation, noise, propaganda, and opinion-forming at breakneck speed, which needs to be studied and explained. The most striking point here is the emergence of information and communication media on a global scale. Television has become a privileged instrument of cultural penetration, socialization, consciousness-building, and the transmission of ideologies and values. In this role, television messages are part of our daily lives, completely engaging us, even especially during moments of leisure and entertainment. This reality, increasingly accepted as natural by all of us, will constitute a significant component of people's culture, determining how each of us perceives and understands others, the environment in which we live, and even the world itself.
