Abstract

The present study addresses the topic: “Teacher Training Needs in the Special Education Degree Program: An Analysis in the Context of the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (ISCED) of Uíge”, with the aim of analyzing the training needs of teachers specializing in Special Education at the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences of Uíge. A mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative) was adopted, with an exploratory-descriptive character, and the discussion was conducted in two stages: first, through a literature review; and second, by applying a survey to students and professors at ISCED Uíge. The findings indicate shortcomings in the articulation between theory and practice, weaknesses in the pedagogical supervision of internships, and curricular limitations.
