ABOUT TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION. SPECIAL FEATURES AND STRATEGIC LOCATION
Main Article Content
Abstract
One of the main functions of Technical and Vocational Education is to train a mid-level working class, which is necessary to promote the continuous development of a country's production and services. This factor is essential to the economy of countries, and this work addresses this issue by exploring, albeit in a general way, its particularities, which differentiate it from other areas of education, and the challenges faced in a world of constant change and uncertainty regarding the dynamics of professions, trades, and jobs.
Furthermore, the specific characteristics of its students as workers in training, of the teacher as a technical pedagogue, and of the instructors of the productive entity are discussed. Given these characteristics, this teaching modality plays a strategic and dynamic role in production processes in their broadest sense. For this work and to achieve the proposed objective, the authors drew on doctoral papers and other specialized sources on the subject, with their many years of experience and dedication to Technical and Vocational Education playing an essential role.
